The Kaiser Permanente Hawaii Internal Medicine Residency Program sets you on the path to a fulfilling, successful career in medicine. Upon finishing your three years of training and experience the power of Permanente Medicine, you’ll be well-prepared to pass the ABIM Internal Medicine Board Certification Examination and start a career which leverages your comprehensive internal medicine training.
Every resident advances through a competency-based education and evaluation program that emphasizes primary care. Our curriculum focuses on ambulatory aspects of internal medicine, including all major subspecialties. Your mentors are highly regarded physicians of Hawaii Permanente Medical Group and others on our health care team, in partnership with Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Kaiser Foundation Hospitals.

Residents accepted into our program will learn and practice in an integrated care delivery system featuring a team-based work environment and a robust electronic health records platform. You will learn to provide high-quality, coordinated care that is centered around the best interests of our patients and their families, while collaborating with physicians, nurses, and ancillary team members.
